So in this sony tx660 review I'll share my thoughts on the sony tx660 recorder for weddings and give you three reasons you should buy it as well as three reasons you should avoid it. This incredibly slim and small recorder has been recommended by wedding filmmakers for a little while and the new version comes with a few slight upgrades. It has a built in mic and really is made as a voice recorder but as wedding videographers do, we've adapted it to fit a very distinct role in the audio gear for wedding videographers setup. I have now used it on about five weddings and can't speak incredibly in depth, but I feel like I have a good idea of how this fits in my kit and despite having some complaints, overall I'm glad I own one. The sony tx660 mic works as a great backup solution when recording audio for a wedding ceremony or for speeches and when combined with an elastic sleeve, it becomes a very "set it and forget it" piece of gear. All in all the sony tx660 recorder has a place in wedding filmmakers' kits in my opinion as long as they already have their main audio sources covered.
